Two area health departments have announced plans for special flu shot clinics in the coming weeks.
The Chase County Health Department will have a drive-through clinic from 9 am to 1 pm Sept. 23 at Swope Park.
The Morris County Health Department has several drive-through clinics, including one Wednesday at the Health Department in Council Grove from 1-5 pm. Other clinics are planned in Dwight on Sept. 28, White City on Sept. 30 and Burdick on Oct. 8.
Residents using these clinics are told to bring their drivers license or government-issued ID and insurance card. Medicare, Medicaid, cash, check and most commercial insurances will be accepted.
Lyon County Public Health has not announced any dates for a community flu shot clinic. Neither have health departments for Coffey, Greenwood, Osage or Wabaunsee counties.
Health officials are urging residents to get the flu shot to minimize the chances of getting the flu while the coronavirus pandemic continues.
