A pretrial hearing is slated for later this month in the case of a man accused of taking food and tools from an Emporia restaurant.
Jacob Vaughan, 22, waived his preliminary hearing in Lyon County District Court this week. He now has a pretrial Sept. 29.
Vaughan is accused of getting into Wendy’s, 1928 West Sixth, on July 16 and taking single boxes or packages of ground beef, chicken breasts, buns and potatoes as well as miscellaneous tools. He’s charged with single counts of burglary of a non-dwelling and theft as well as two counts of criminal damage.
