Interest in mail ballots continues at a high level, according to Lyon County Clerk Tammy Vopat.
Vopat’s comments on KVOE’s Morning Show this week come as Governor Laura Kelly announced every Kansas county will receive two extra dropboxes to handle the demand and ensure vote safety and security. Vopat said she plans to install one at the Lyon County Courthouse and one in the parking lot east of the courthouse and south of White Auditorium. That will be a drive-thru dropbox near the existing dropbox for city bills.
Vopat also says the Election Office is well-stocked with personal protective equipment for those using polling places in November.
People wanting mail ballots can fill out those requests online at www.ksvotes.org. Those requests will go directly to the Election Office after they are submitted. Residents can also go to www.lyoncounty.org and find a mail ballot request under the Election Office drop-down tab.
