Emporia Child Care has announced its Center III is closing for several days after a confirmed coronavirus case.
The center at 1320 C of E Drive will close Thursday and remain closed through Labor Day. Board chair Lisa Kirmer says this will give staff a chance to sanitize and clean the facility.
The goal is to reopen Tuesday. Parents and staff have been told of the closure and the reopening plans. Kirmer says no further details will be announced about this case.
Emporia Child Care Center 1, 802 Commercial, will remain open.
Kirmer says Director Deb Crowl has been working closely with Lyon County Public Health to make sure the child care centers follow safety protocols.
