In separate moves Tuesday, Greenwood County officials restricted access to the courthouse and the county hospital in light of coronavirus increases.
Several offices inside the Greenwood County Courthouse are now appointment-only for public visits, including Appraiser, Attorney, County Clerk, Extension, Register of Deeds and Treasurer. Residents will need to call the office they need to set appointments or arrange alternatives to in-person visits.
At Greenwood County Hospital, no visitor will be allowed until further notice and only one parent can go inside with patients under age 18. People dropping off patients in other circumstances can wait in their vehicles and call for updates.
Greenwood County currently has 34 overall and nine active cases.
Over the past week, the Health Department has asked people who attended Benny’s Westside bar in Eureka between Aug. 15-22 and Casey’s General Store, also in Eureka, between 4 pm-midnight Aug. 28-29 to self-quarantine due to potential coronavirus exposure.
