Nearly $500,000 is coming to SOS after recent grant announcements from the state.
On Monday, Governor Laura Kelly’s administration announced three sets of grants that SOS qualified for. SOS is receiving over $240,000 as part of the state’s Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Grant program. It’s also receiving over $47,000 for the Children’s Advocacy Centers Grant awards as well as almost $56,000 through the Federal Family Violence Prevention and Services Act Grant program.
This follows almost $135,000 in grants as announced Friday by Attorney General Derek Schmidt. Money will be split among the Court Appointed Special Advocate program (over $16,000); supervised visitation and monitored exchange services (almost $50,000); one children’s advocate position (over $20,000); public awareness enhancement (almost $43,000); and operating expenses for the children’s advocacy center (over $5,000).
