Lyon County District Court was busy Friday with a number of hearings throughout the day including several of note.
Jail time is coming for the third person involved in the burglary of Kari’s Diamonds and Bridal last May. Aaron Coxwell entered a no-contest plea to single charges of burglary and criminal damage during a mediation hearing Friday. Coxwell agreed to an 18-month prison term as part of the plea agreement.
A sentencing date is currently pending.
Coxwell’s two co-defendants in the case, Nicholas Hall and Leslie Fontenot have already been sentenced. Hall received 31 months in prison while Fontenot received 14 months.
Additionally, Gregory Goad appeared in court Friday where he pled to two counts of aggravated domestic battery and two counts of attempted kidnapping. Goad was facing 30 counts alleging violence and child sex crimes in district court ranging from late 2019 into early 2020.
Goad could receive up to 15-years in prison. Sentencing dates have yet to be announced.
Separately, mental evaluation is coming for Miguel Renterio, the man accused of aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer and drug possession after an incident at 18 South West in May of this year.
