Osage City Police have arrested two people as part of an investigation into auto burglaries in the town.
29-year-old Shayne Lang of Osage City and 21-year-old Shawna Goodman of Topeka were already in custody when formal charges were filed this week for vehicle burglary and vehicle theft.
Osage City Police says the incidents generally appear to follow the “rails-to-trails” path in the town. with one in the 200 block of Barclay and three around the 1300 block of Brant.
Osage City Police are reminding residents to check vehicles for missing property and to lock up vehicles and homes. All the incidents in this case involved unlocked vehicles, according to OCPD.
