Ryan McBroom drove in a run with a single in the eighth inning for the game-winning RBI. Ryan O’Hearn added his first home run of the season as part of a three-hit game. Manager Mike Matheny says O’Hearn may be finding his groove.
Josh Staumont got the win for the Royals in relief. He’s now 1-1 on the season. Trevor Rosenthal got his seventh save. Matt Harvey struggled in his second straight start, giving up four runs in five innings, but the bullpen pitched four scoreless innings.
