Flint Hills Community Health Center saw positive financial progress in the month of July.
The monthly financial report, presented during the FHCHC Board of Directors meeting Tuesday, reflected a $601,000 net gain for July above a budgeted loss of $58,000. FHCHC CEO Renee Hively says July was a good month financially for the department, however, she warned that total can be slightly deceiving.
Hively says the COVID relief funding has allowed the health center to offset previously lost revenue in recent months with those efforts reflected during the month of July. This equivalates to an actual net gain of $104,000 for the month of July after the offsetting of previous financial losses due to COVID-19.
Hively also wished to convey there has been a continuous uptick in provider productivity over the past two months which also attributes to the center’s July gain. Days cash hand also increased to 31 days.
In other business, the board also approved the relocation of the FHCHC IT Department back to within the confines of the health center. The department was previously outsourced to J Mark based in Springfield, MO.
The board also received the usual list of reports from the medical, dental and behavioral health clinics along with the monthly CQI report. The FHCHC Board of Directors will hold their monthly meeting on Sept. 22 at noon via Zoom and inside the Havenhill Conference Room at the health center.
