USD 251 took action to help its remote learning capability during COVID-19 as part of a special meeting Monday night.
The district hired Shari Beatty to help teach elementary kids online. Superintendent Bob Blair says this was a good move for the district and its elementary students.
Blair says the need to fill that position became evident during the summer. He says it was important for elementary online students to have their own teacher instead of having an in-class teacher also handle online work.
The district took no action on a possible land acquisition. Blair says that agenda item reflected the district’s goal of starting a preschool next fall. The district is considering its options for that facility at this time.
