An overturned semi and subsequent oil spill led to a minor disruption of traffic in west Emporia Sunday afternoon.
Emergency personnel were called to the US 50 roundabout in Emporia at 1:45 pm Sunday for a hazardous waste spill. Emporia Fire Batallion Chief Ryan Conley tells KVOE News the spill was a mixture of oil and gasoline that spilled after a semi overturned in the roundabout.
Fire managed to clean up the spill with oil dry absorbent powder before clearing the scene. Traffic was allowed through the roundabout, however, one exit was blocked as emergency personnel investigated the accident.
