Emporia State Athletics held their 36th annual golf tournament Friday, raising over $16,000. 116 golfers played in the tournament held at the Emporia Golf Course.
In the Championship flight there was a 3 way tie for first. After the scorecard play-off the team of Kala Maxfield, Dave Watts, Jelinda Watts and Chase Coble finished in 1st place.
Toby Wynn, Brody Peak, Andy King and Westin Weast finished in 2nd place.
Derek Harter, Jamie Sauder, Brian Dewitt and Barry Broxterman placed third.
All 3 teams finished 15 under par.
In the A-Flight Alex Goodpaster, Rob Mayes, Dave Faulkner, and Rick Walden won the A flight over Hunter Williams, Sloan Baker, Hayden Schaeffer, and Austin Neal in a scorecard play-off.
Kent Weiser, Gary Ace, Matt Holstin, and Fuji Ortiz finished in third place.
Had a chance to visit with several of the Coaches.
Soccer Coach Bryan Sailer said the players are missing practicing.
Womens basketball Coach Toby Wynn said it is good to have the players back on campus.
Baseball Coach Seth Wheeler was proud how his team handled having their season cut short.
All proceeds from the golf tournament will go to Emporia State athletics.
