Emporia City Commissioners may take final action on the 2021 budget during their upcoming action session Wednesday night.
Commissioners will hold a public hearing for the budget after which time they may formally adopt the budget that comes out to a total of just over $54 million encompassing 14 funds. Additionally, commissioners will consider approving the issuance of general obligation bonds in the amount of $775,000 for the purchase of equipment for city departments.
A resolution to authorize waiving the 25 percent cash carryover requirement for the Regional Development Association, the Convention and Visitor’s Bureau and Emporia Main Street for 2020 may also be approved.
Two executive sessions are also planned. The meeting begins at 7 pm inside the Municipal Courtroom at White Auditorium.
