Kansas Children’s Service League has to change directions with its major local fundraiser.
The Red Stocking Breakfast, a staple of Emporia’s early-December community calendar since 2011, has been canceled due to COVID-19. In its place is KCSL’s first virtual giving event, Together We Thrive. Local director Bev Long says KCLS “has learned to be flexible” with its events.
The Red Stocking Breakfast rapidly became a critical fundraising piece for KCSL, often generating $15,000 or more for local prevention and education programs.
Together We Thrive will feature a live online presentation and three inspiring stories told by families served by KCSL.
