Flint Hills Technical College has selected a current faculty member as the recipient of the 2020 FHTC Distinguished Alumni Award.
The college announced Wednesday that the FHTC Foundation Board had chosen current FHTC Network Technology Instructor and Network Engineer Adam Starr as this year’s Distinguished Alumni based on his academic contributions to FHTC and commitment as an educator. Starr came to FHTC as a student in 1991 with the intention of only studying for a single semester in the college’s Electronics Technology program.
Starr would graduate from FHTC with his associate of applied science degree in Electronics Technology in 1994 and began his professional career with the College in the same year as the college’s first technical support staffer. Starr became a full-time instructor in 1996 and has taught over 800 students in his near three-decade career.
FHTC Vice-President of Advancement Mike Crouch states in a news release, “Adam personifies what an FHTC Distinguished Alumni represents and we are proud to recognize him for his years of dedication to the institution and the outstanding impacts he has made on students’ lives over the years. Alumni and educators like Adam Starr are what makes Flint Hills Technical College a special place.”
