A Coffey County man received medical attention after a multi-vehicle crash in the Kansas City metropolitan area Saturday.
Four vehicles were involved in the collision at the junction of Interstate 35 and I-435 shortly after 5:30 pm. The Kansas Highway Patrol says all four drivers were northbound on I-35, with a car driven by 52-year-old Ana Loza of Kansas City, Kansas, stalled in the road for a flat tire. A car driven by 20-year-old Skyler Dickey of Waverly rear-ended Loza’s car, only to be hit by a car driven by 61-year-old Ousmane Sy of Kansas City, Missouri. A fourth car driven by 67-year-old Kathie Wallentine of Topeka hit crash debris.
Dickey and a passenger, 19-year-old Savannah Wright of Paola, were both taken to Overland Park Regional with suspected minor injuries. Loza was taken to KU Medical Center, also with suspected minor injuries. Nobody else in the wreck was hurt. All involved were wearing seatbelts.
