The Royals did get a solid outing from Kris Bubic who held the Cubs in check for 6 innings, giving up 2 runs on 4 hits with 6 strikeouts.
The Cubs scored 2 runs in the 8th and 9th innings to seal the win.
The Royals offense scored 1 run on 5 hits and struck out 11 times.
The Royals and Cubs wrap up their 4 game series with the Cubs Thursday night with Brad Keller making his 2020 debut. First pitch is set for 6:07. The game will be broadcast on KVOE 1400AM/96.9FM beginning at 6pm.

The league sent a memo to teams Wednesday outlining changes to its 2020 operations manual after outbreaks on the Miami Marlins and St. Louis Cardinals led to 21 postponements in the first two weeks of a shortened 60-game season.
The memo, obtained by The Associated Press on Wednesday night, says that repeated or flagrant violators of the protocols could be banned from participating in the 2020 season and postseason.
