No decision on the future of fall sports championships from the NCAA Board of Governors was announced Tuesday. NCAA President Mark Emmert said an announcement will be made Wednesday.
USAToday is reporting there are rumors that the Board of Governors will simply push the decision of whether to play fall championships down to each individual division and conference, and that could result in a patchwork of competition. It would likely open the door to the cancellation of Division II and III fall championships and put the onus on The Division I Board of Directors for the big-money and highly visible FBS schools.
