The Kansas City Royals picked up their first win of the season Saturday out scoring Cleveland 3-2 in 10 innings.
Jorge Soler and Salvador Perez hit back to back home runs in the first inning to give the Royals a 2-0 lead. Cleveland tied the game in the 3rd inning.
The Royals scored the go ahead run in the top of the 10th, Brett Phillips scored on a Maikel Franco sacrifice fly.
Brady Singer made his major league debut, he pitched 5 innings giving up 2 runs on 5 hits with 7 strikeouts.
Scott Barlow earned the win in relief. Greg Holland earned the save.
It was also the first win for Mike Matheney as manager of the Royals.
The Royals and Cleveland wrap up their season opening 3 game series Sunday afternoon. First pitch is set for 12:10p. The game will be broadcast on KVOE 1400AM/96.9FM.
