An Americus man suffered minor injuries following a vehicle accident in Franklin County early Friday morning.
A northbound 2012 Kenworth semi driven by 44-year-old James David Coop was traveling on Interstate 35 at mile marker 171.5 on a bridge over Colorado Road just after 5:30 am. According to the Kansas Highway Patrol crash log, Coop fell asleep at the wheel and struck a concrete barrier wall.
The truck then struck the bridge and overturned. Coop was taken to Ottawa Hospital with suspected minor injuries.
He was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the accident.
