Sentencing is coming in September for a man accused of several instances of unlawful sexual activity with teenagers and pre-teenagers.
41-year-old Derek Stefan pled no contest to two counts of aggravated indecent solicitation of a child and one count of sexual exploitation of a child in Lyon County District Court Friday. As part of a plea deal, additional charges were dismissed in the case.
The three counts which Stefan pled to are level five personal felonies and could levy a sentence of more than 10 years in prison. However, both the prosecution and defense agreed to recommend he serve a total sentence of 121 months, approximately 10 years, in prison.
Stefan will also be required to register as a sex offender for the remainder of his life. Sentencing is set for 10 am Sept. 9.
