Heavy rain from Monday night into Tuesday morning has led to a handful of road closures areawide.
Lyon County’s list is currently short:
*Road 150 from Roads M to N
*Road 190 from Roads K to L
*Road 215 between Roads H-5 and J-7
*Road J south of Road 215
*Road 150 from “M” to “P”
*Road 160 from “N” to “P”
*Road P from Road 140 to 170
Several gravel roads between Hamilton and Eureka in Greenwood County are also reported as underwater.
Several river gauges saw notable increases, but all are currently forecast to stay below flood stage.
Most of the area, including nearly all Lyon County, has been in moderate drought the last two weeks. It remains to be seen how the rainfall from Sunday night into Tuesday morning is reflected in Thursday’s US Drought Monitor Report.
