Emporia Fire Crews were able to make quick work of a vehicle fire that occurred on the Kansas Turnpike Wednesday
Crews were called to Kansas Turnpike mile marker 141 northbound, 16 miles north of Emporia, shortly after 8:30 pm for a report of a vehicle fire. Upon arrival fire crews found a fully engulfed SUV and managed to extinguish the fire in less than 20 minutes.
The exact cause of the fire is yet to be determined, however, the Emporia Fire Department tells KVOE News it originated in the vehicle’s engine compartment. No injuries were reported.
