The risk of severe thunderstorm activity for Wednesday morning has come and gone without any severe weather.
The National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm watch for Lyon, Chase, Morris and Wabaunsee counties early Wednesday. Later, warnings came out for Chase and Morris counties. However, the storms died out without producing any severe weather and the watch was canceled about two hours early.
Moderate to heavy rain has fallen across the western quarter of Chase County, although rain totals have not been reported. Other rain totals so far have been light:
*KVOE studios: 0.10 inches
*Emporia Municipal Airport: 0.07 inches
*Allen: 0.20 inches
Rain may continue until early afternoon across the area.
