A woman allegedly involved in a lengthy law enforcement pursuit over 18 months ago has a plea hearing in Lyon County this week.
Chelsea Brooks, 30, allegedly led authorities from Emporia to Osage County as part of a chase in December 2018. Brooks also narrowly missed several law enforcement vehicles on its way out of Emporia. Chase speeds approached 100 mph on Kansas Highway 99 and US Highway 56 before Brooks was stopped about 10 miles south of Burlingame.
Brooks is charged with two counts of aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, along with flee and elude, possession of methamphetamine and marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving while suspended or revoked. A plea hearing is set for 1:15 pm Tuesday.
