Two grants have been announced by the Greater Emporia Area Disaster Relief Fund.
The last announcement two weeks ago featured a nonprofit, the Lowther Fund. On KVOE’s On-Air Chat on Wednesday, two businesses were announced. Both House of Ma and L&L Pets got $1,500.
Main Street Director Casey Woods anticipates some businesses who have received grants may well reapply soon.
The business announcement followed a grant for the Lowther Relief Fund two weeks ago. United Way Director Mickey Edwards says some nonprofits have reapplied for funds — and some haven’t applied that could use the money.
Emporia Community Foundation Director Becky Nurnberg says residents have now contributed over $195,000 to the fund.
The relief fund was developed as a collaboration involving the Emporia Community Foundation, Emporia Main Street, United Way of the Flint Hills and KVOE.
