Lyon County starts this week with 502 confirmed or probable cases of coronavirus with another update due Monday afternoon.
No new cases were announced in Lyon County Public Health’s report Friday.
The county currently has 22 active cases. The active case count has been in the 20s since June 19 for the most part, but dipped below 20 briefly last week.
The number of deaths has been steady at seven for over two weeks. Just over 2,800 people have been tested.
Across the KVOE listening area, the only county with active cases is Osage County with four. No area counties had COVID-19 updates during the July 4 holiday weekend.
The Kansas Department of Health and Environment reported over 900 new cases from Wednesday to Friday. The total number of confirmed and probable positive cases is up to 15,919. The death toll is at 277 after five new deaths were reported Friday.
