Over 20 local businesses have signed up to take part in Emporia Main Street’s grand reopening week beginning Monday.
Reopening week comes as many local businesses have begun reopening or expanding operations after months of adjustments due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Emporia Main Street Director Casey Woods says with so many local businesses gradually working to return to some sense of normalcy they thought it would be appropriate to extend an invitation to the local community to assist those efforts.
Reopening week will run from Monday to Sunday of this week and Main Street Community Relations Director Jessica Buccholz says Main Street is offering an extra incentive to shop local through a special drawing at the end of the week. Local customers will be able to pick up a special passport at the start of the week, which they can take to each participating business for the chance to win an assortment of prizes.
Buccholz explains in order to enter for a chance to win, customers need to visit each business, make a purchase and have their passport signed and return it to the Main Street Office before the end of the week.
Woods says prizes will include up to $200 in gift certificates among others with the prize pool growing more and more every day. For more information on reopening week visit Emporiamainstreet.com or call 620-340-6430.
