Emporia State softball has announced the passing of a former player, Jacie Stephens Cochran.
Jacie passed away Thursday morning from complications after giving birth to her son Jaxson Jay Cochran.
Jacie was a member of the softball team from 2013-2017. She was a 4 year starter at catcher and was a 2 time All-MIAA selection.
She was married to Cale Cochran who is a former student assistant with the Emporia State football team. His brother Cayden is an assistant with the Hornet football team and his brother Case is a member of the football team.
