Heat advisories have been extended for several area counties.
Lyon, Coffey and Osage counties are now in a heat advisory until 8 pm Wednesday. Coffey and Osage counties also have a heat advisory from 1-8 pm Thursday for potential heat index readings as high as 105 degrees.
Greenwood County, meanwhile, is now in a separate heat advisory until 8 pm Thursday with possible heat index readings reaching 108 degrees.
Meanwhile, the Storm Prediction Center has issued low-end severe weather risk outlooks for Wednesday evening and Thursday involving all area counties. Marginal risk areas have been announced for hail and wind.
