The Emporia hosted Dynamic Discs Open, being played at the Emporia Country Club, is Underway.
116 golfers are registered including a number of the top disc golfers in the world.
Including 5 time World Champion and 3 time Glass Blown Open Champion Paul McBeth.
2 time World Champion Ricky Wysocki, one of his championships came in Emporia in 2016, is in the field.
In the womens division 5 time World Champion Paige Pierce will be playing. She is also a 4 time Glass Blown open champion.
Emporias own Paige Shue, the 2018 world champion, is also playing. She says there is no extra pressure playing on the home course.
4 golfers from Emporia are playing in the mens tournament.
Donovan Esquivel, Isaiah Esquivel, the 2018 15 and under world champion, Dominic Rodriguez and Bruce Esquivel.
No spectators are allowed.
Coverage of the tournament will be provided by the Disc Golf Network and can also be watched on Valunet channel 3.
It was also announced Thursday that CBS Sports will air 4 one hour segments of coverage from this weekends tournament.
Emporian Eric McCabe says this is a big deal for disc golf.
CBS has not announced when the segments will be aired but could be in late July or August.
