Summer is here and temperatures will reflect that fact with highs in the 90s for most of the next week.
Humane Society of the Flint Hills Director Caitlin Flood says the agency is doing what it can to keep the animals in its care as safe as possible.
Flood says the Humane Society has been busy since coronavirus began in the area three months ago. The Emporia Animal Shelter remains full for both cats and dogs. Adoptions are by appointment only, so people interested in adopting pets need to go to www.petfinder.com for more information. The Humane Society will email applications, determine approval and then schedule a meeting time with the animal.
