One individual suffered minor injuries following a two-vehicle collision in Emporia Wednesday evening.
Emporia Police and EMS were called to the intersection of West 2nd Avenue and Congress Street shortly after 6 pm for a reported injury accident. According to officers at the scene, a 2005 Toyota Camry was traveling south on Congress when it collided with a Ford 150 was attempting to back out onto the street leading to the collision.
Officers say the pickup may have been illegally parked according to witness accounts at the time of the accident. The driver of the Camry suffered minor injuries due to the accident and was observed by EMS at the scene, but refused a trip to the hospital.
Officers say the driver of the pickup was cited for “improper backing.”
