One vehicle suffered significant damage, however, no individuals were harmed following a vehicle fire that developed late Sunday afternoon.
Emporia Fire crews and Emporia Police responded to 521 Wiltshire Lane shortly before 4 pm after a vehicle fire developed in the driveway of the West Hills Manufactured Home Community. According to Emporia Police Officer Kenny Rodriguez the occupants of the vehicle reported as they were driving the vehicle suddenly died.
Both the driver and passenger then exited the vehicle to inspect the cause when one of the individuals noticed a fuel leak. Officer Rodriguez says they were unable to shut the vehicle off before the fuel ignited leading to the car catching fire.
Neither occupant was harmed as a result of the fire and no other property or vehicles were affected.
