The Emporia Senior baseball team split a doubleheader with Ottawa Tuesday night.
Ottawa rallied with 3 runs in the 7th and 8th innings to out score the 19s 10-7 in 8 innings. Emporia scored a run in the 1st inning, added 4 runs in the 2nd inning and held a 6-0 lead after 5 innings but could not hang on for the win.
The Emporia Seniors won the 2nd game 10-0 in 4 innings.
Skyler Douglas was the winning pitcher tossing a no-hitter.
Beau Baumgardner was 2 for 3 at the plate and scored 3 runs.
John Miller was 2 for 2 with 3 RBI.
The Seniors are now 6-3 for the season. They will be playing in a tournament at McPherson beginning Friday.
The Emporia Juniors swept a doubleheader from Ottawa. The 17s won the first game Ottawa 11-2. The 17s scored 7 runs in the 5th inning to take control of the game.
John Pringle was 3 for 4 with 2 RBI to lead the offense.
Vance Kinsey was the winning pitcher giving up 2 runs on 1 hit and 11 strikeouts.
They won the 2nd game 7-2
The Juniors are now 2-4 for the season. They will be hosting a tournament Saturday and Sunday.
