The Emporia Splash Pad is reopening to the public Saturday.
City of Emporia Officials announced the pad will be available for public use beginning at 10 am. The pad’s opening follows repair work over the past week which wrapped up Friday.
The opening comes as temperatures are forecasted to be in the mid 90’s Saturday and will continue climbing into the upcoming week with temperatures as high as 94 possible on Monday. Residents are encouraged to follow best health practices and guidelines while using the splash pad.
This includes social distancing and bringing disinfectant materials to help reduce the possibility of COVID-19 spread.
The Splash Pad will be open 10 am to 8 pm Saturday and Sunday and from noon to 8 pm Monday. A full schedule has yet to be announced.
The splash pad opening also comes as Chase County State Lake announced the reopening of its swimming area Friday.
