The Emporia Public Library is taking another step in expanding its services to the general public.
Beginning Monday the library will be extending pickup hours from 1 pm to 6 pm Monday through Friday. The extension is being offered to accommodate patrons who typically work until 5 pm as the current pickup hours only run from 1 to 4 pm.
Library Director Robin Newell says via a news release “Now that we have successfully initiated the pickup process, we have been able to work out a schedule that better meets the needs of our community.”
In addition to the extended pickup hours, both of the library’s book drops, located in the parking lot, will be open at all times including weekends starting Monday. At this time, studies are also underway to help the library continue developing the best strategy to offer patrons social distanced computer access and printing services while maintaining COVID-19 mitigation efforts.
