Details are sparse after a reported shooting incident in the Emporia city limits.
Police Capt. Dave DeVries says a 35-year-old woman was taken to Newman Regional Health with a reported gunshot wound. Officers responded to the hospital shortly before 3:15 am after she was brought in for medical treatment by private vehicle, corroborating a statement from the Emporia Fire Department.

Emporia Police are investigating a reported shooting.
Police Sgt. Lisa Sage says officers were called to Newman Regional Health after a report of someone with a gunshot wound. Emporia Fire Capt. Tony Fuller also says the person used a private vehicle and the department was not called to help.
