Construction has formally ended at the Preston Plaza and Lofts project in downtown Emporia, and developer Cory Haag says most of the available spaces have already been claimed.
Haag says the newly-constructed building at 528 Merchant includes 22 loft-style apartments in three floors above commercial spaces for beauty-industry professionals on the ground floor. All apartments have been leased and seven of the 10 commercial spaces in The Salon Suites at The Preston have been filled.
Haag has facilitated several downtown developments over the past decade, including the Chelsea Plaza and Lofts, Granada Plaza and Lofts, Kellogg Plaza and Lofts, Roosevelt Plaza and Lofts and Legacy Lofts. Total investment: between $30 million and $35 million.
Renovations to the Citizens National Plaza and Lofts a 528 Commercial is fully underway and could be done later this summer.
