The USD 253 Board of Education will receive yet another request for education redesign during their regular board meeting Wednesday.
Representatives of Village Elementary School will present “their journey” regarding the Apollo II redesign principals in hopes of becoming a redesign building. If approved by the board, Village would become the fifth Emporia school to seek redesign following William Allen White, Logan Avenue and Walnut Elementary schools as well as Emporia Middle School who submitted their request last month.
In other business, the board will receive an update on the district’s new early learning facility and discuss plans for the 2020-21 academic year. A report from the Kansas Education Systems Accreditation (KESA) outside visiting team is also scheduled along with consideration of bids for the EMS chiller, the fee schedule and meal prices for the upcoming academic year and property and casualty insurance renewals.
The meeting will begin at 7 pm and will be viewable on the district’s website.
