(ESPN/KVOE) Kevin Harvick cruised to victory Sunday over Kyle Busch and Martin Truex Jr. in the NASCAR Cup Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500 Atlanta Motor Speedway, leading the final 55 laps on a day that began with the series acknowledging the social unrest in the country.
Harvick, currently the points leader this season, won for the second time since NASCAR returned from the shutdown caused by the coronavirus pandemic. He now has 51 wins, which is 12th all-time. He broke a tie with racing legends Ned Jarrett and Junior Johnson with the victory.
Emporia native Clint Bowyer started in the fifth spot but finished 20th despite leading nearly 60 laps. Bowyer stayed 12th in the points standings after Sunday’s race.
NASCAR now goes to Martinsville for a night race at 6 pm Wednesday.
