On Friday, Governor Laura Kelly said state health metrics were trending in such a way that counties can advance with their COVID-19 recovery models.
The governor recommended that counties use the Ad Astra Phase 3 at this time, meaning mass gathering sizes at 45 people or less, the opening of all businesses, more on-site employment, a gradual increase of visits to long-term care facilities or correctional facilities and other steps.
As you know, Lyon County went to a modified Phase 3 on Thursday. Greenwood County ended its coronavirus restrictions altogether Monday. Osage County went to a 90-person mass gathering maximum late last month until June 15. Wabaunsee County is also in Phase 3 until June 10.
Morris County has now announced it will follow the governor’s Phase 3 model. Chase County will have a special meeting at 10 am Monday to discuss the county’s COVID-19 “phase-out” plan.
Coffey County’s Phase 2 restrictions end at midnight Sunday. The county has not announced a plan to go to Phase 3 or phase out entirely of COVID-19 restrictions.
