The Emporia Arts Center is reopening Friday.
Director Dawn Young says there will be a soft opening during the Emporia First Friday Art Walk from 5-9 pm. People can view the Leon Morrow exhibit now in the building.
This sets the tone for the second reopening stage beginning Tuesday.
Since closing in March, the Arts Center has focused on its online and social media offerings, with an emphasis on tutorials and artist promotion. Staffers also created about 600 Emil Babinger coloring books for area children.
Young says the arts auction will now take place next year. Sybarite 5, which was to be the final group scheduled through the annual Performing Arts Series, will not return with next year’s schedule already set. Missoula Children’s Theatre may return this fall or winter, but the Summer Arts Kickoff has been canceled.
