You’ll have longer hours to see the residents of the David Traylor Zoo faster than first announced.
On KVOE’s Morning Show on Friday, Director Lisa Keith said the zoo is going to the second phase in its recovery plan Saturday.
The original plan had the zoo opening from 10 am to 2 pm Saturday and the zoo not going to its regular hours until perhaps June 22.
Precautions will still be in place, including one-way traffic, eight-foot social distancing spaces, hand sanitizer upon entry and exit and the strong recommendation to use masks while in the facility. Play areas, the snack bar and the Zoo Education Center will remain closed, but the picnic area will reopen.
Call the zoo at 341-4365 or go online to www.emporiazoo.org for more information.
