Monday, Crosswinds Counseling and Wellness officially began a phased reopening of its facilities.
At this time Crosswinds is continuing to offer telehealth services to all consumers, however, according to a news release from Crosswinds Development Manager Lucas Moody Tuesday Crosswinds are now open for any consumers who would like to meet in person. According to the release, preventive measures are being implemented in order to protect both staff and clients alike.
This includes visitors needing to complete a screening questionnaire before entering any Crosswinds facility. Crosswinds is also encouraging the wearing of masks, staying home if you are feeling ill or sick and practicing social distancing.
Additionally, Crosswinds requests that only those who are receiving treatment enter the facility. Caregivers may be asked to wait in their vehicle for the duration of an appointment.
Outpatient therapy and psychiatry services continue to be available through telehealth, however, face-to-face services will be available to clients who do not have access to telehealth. Crosswinds will also be extending free intakes thanks to a donation from the Greater Emporia Area Disaster Relief Fund according to the news release. Free intakes will be available until resources run out.

CROSSWINDS COUNSELING AND WELLNESS PHASED REOPENING NEWS RELEASE
Effective June 1, 2020
CrossWinds will continue to follow the State’s re-opening plan at this time. During the current Phase 2,
CrossWinds will continue to provide services in a manner that is safe for our consumers and staff. While
many services will continue to be done through televideo and phone, our offices are open and
individuals can decide if they’d prefer to come into the office or stay at home. CrossWinds is committed
to following social distancing, wearing masks and keeping our spaces as clean and safe as possible.
Individuals visiting any CrossWinds locations will be asked screening questions prior to their entry and
will be asked to wear a mask. Staff who are experiencing any symptoms will not work outside their
home. Consumers are asked to not come early and may be asked to wait in their car until the provider is
ready. Only individuals that are part of the treatment should come into the building. Caretakers may be
asked to wait in their vehicle during the appointment.
Outpatient therapy and psychiatry services continue to be available through telehealth. Face to face
services will be available for clients who are unable to access telehealth. As we enter Phase 3, more face
to face appointments may be available, but on a limited basis. We are taking new consumers. Thanks to
the Greater Emporia Area Disaster Relief Fund CrossWinds Counseling and Wellness will be extending
free intakes until resources run out.
Case management, attendant care, peer support and other community-based services have begun to be
face to face in the community on a limited basis at the discretion of the staff member and consumer.
There will be no transportation, home visits or office appointments through Phase 2. In Phase 3, these
open up with caution, requiring individuals to wear masks.
Psychosocial Groups (children, adult, and therapeutic preschool) will begin June 1. No groups will have
more than 8 consumers at a time and will practice good hygiene, social distancing when necessary, and
regular health screenings. At this time, transportation is not an option for our child and adult groups.
This will be reevaluated in Phase 3 and throughout the rest of the summer.
Emergency and crisis services are open by televideo and phone by calling 620-343-2211 or 1-800-279-
3645. These will gradually move to face to face during the business hours of M-F 8-5.
