A man accused of promoting obscenity to minors, sexual exploitation and other instances of unlawful sexual activity towards teenagers and pre-teenagers was in court Monday and will return next month.
Derek Erwin Stefan waived his preliminary hearing Monday and will have a pretrial conference in Lyon County District Court at 2 pm July 1.
Stefan faces seven counts of promoting obscenity, three counts of sexual exploitation and single counts of electronic solicitation and violating the Kansas Offender Registry Act, after alleged activity with five victims ranging in age from 10 to 16. Authorities allege illegal sexual activity periodically from September 2017 to February 2018.
