With the Kansas Corporation Commission’s directive for utility companies to suspend disconnections ending Sunday, at least two utilities has announced plans to resume that practice beginning Monday.
4 Rivers Electric Cooperative says it will resume service disconnection for non-payment in June. Customers who are behind on their bills are asked to call 620-364-2116 or 800-748-7395 during normal business hours to make arrangements.
4 Rivers also says its lobbies will reopen to the public June 8 after having been closed since late March due to coronavirus.
Flint Hills Rural Electric Cooperative, which serves parts of Lyon, Chase, Morris and Wabaunsee counties, is starting to disconnect for nonpayments in June. Customers can call 620-767-5144 for payment options. The lobby in Council Grove will say closed until June 8.
Evergy, which supplies most of the KVOE listening area, is suspending disconnects through July 15.
