Abundant Harvest was planning a free food giveaway Tuesday. It’s not having that event because the food’s all gone.
Director Lee Alderman was shocked to see the line of cars that developed for the first day of the food giveaway Monday.
The next semi is coming Wednesday afternoon.
The food giveaway is set for weekdays from 7-10 am and 4-6 pm at Abundant Harvest, 1028 Whittier, courtesy of a partnership with Victory Fellowship Church. Dairy products, fruits and vegetables are available.
Alderman says there is a curbside pickup process. Food is available on a first-come, first-served basis, but there is no limit on how much food people can take. Alderman says about 20 percent of Monday’s turnout was picking up food in bulk for elderly, shut-ins and churches.
