A flash flood watch continues for Lyon and most surrounding counties this holiday.
Lyon, Coffey, Morris, Osage and Wabaunsee counties are under watches until 7 pm Tuesday evening. A watch for Chase and Greenwood counties is tentatively set to expire at 7 pm Monday.
The National Weather Service says rainfall amounts could be anywhere from 1-3 inches in the watch box through the day, although top-end area totals may be around 2 inches.
On Sunday, most of the heavy rainfall stayed out of the KVOE listening area. In fact, there was nothing measurable at the KVOE studios and the Emporia Municipal Airport recorded 0.06 inches.
